The Bible does say there is to be a fear of God, but that’s a healthy fear; one of respect for God’s position, for who He is. But I’m talking about Christians who are afraid of God’s ways. Nobody tells God what to do. We can believe by faith in who God is and His unlimited capabilities.

God is greater than mankind and does not react or follow along with what Christians think He should. God does things in ways that benefit His purposes and enlarge His kingdom. And He will use many that are willing to adapt to the way He chooses to work.

Here’s where the problem begins. Nobody has a monopoly on God. He’s not a Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist, Catholic or any other denomination or independent organization. He’s God! For any group or pastor or religious movement to believe God is just like they say, they are out of order.

God chooses His methods. And He always goes along with His Word. But, again, God’s ways are not always interpreted by man as such. Just because we don’t understand doesn’t change God a bit. And just because God decides to show up in a situation in a way we don’t think is right, doesn’t mean that we’re right.

God is not denominational or religious. Mankind is, though. Just because you don’t understand other Christian’s ways doesn’t mean they are wrong. God never violates His Word, but every one of us has, at times. We are not always reliable because humans have flaws, but God doesn’t.

It’s everywhere these days. We are seeing people who attend local churches who claim they are Christians but go directly against God’s word when they have to make choices in public settings. You can say all you want about the “laws of the land” and protected rights, but wrong is wrong. Sin is still sin in God’s eyes. Just because we are people that live in our towns across this nation and have manmade rules does not mean we have to give our support to man’s law of the land, as some people might think we should, when it violates God’s Word. If the law is forced on you, it’s one thing; but it doesn’t mean we have to just agree with it and cast our vote for it.

With each decision, you choose which side your true morals are on. Sin is left unrestrained when people allow sin to become a part of their own lives. In some of our local communities across this nation, the truth of God fails to be preached to its fullest and is presented with moral options and tolerance so we see men and women who claim to be a Christians that are so only in name – there is no real, true relationship with Jesus Christ like there should be. Therefore, we see a complete disregard of God’s Word and its truths by those who are preaching that all lifestyles have to be respected and tolerated- that we have to accept the changing culture- or face legal challenges.

SO WHAT! I don’t say these words to become the enemy of any person because God loves us all- but not our sinfulness- and these types of actions are destroying His people.

Christian Discrimination

Would you have ever thought there would be such a thing in America? Well maybe the day has arrived. For many years there was a great respect for the things that were of the Christian order. Yet over time, there has been erosion that has now begun to catch up with the Christian faith, due much in part by the ignoring of a little sin here and there, not dealing with these issues until now they are becoming too strong to deal with in a gentle way.

The Christian faith is like no other. It has what all people need for eternal life but its enemy, Satan, has made many inroads into society that are overwhelming the typical Christian follower.

For the change to come and the territory to be taken back will require a very strong believer who is willing to put aside their own personal agendas and do what the true God of heaven is going to require. Each day the Christian must face the facts that the world is changing and is not favorable to Christianity like it once was and the fault does lie at the Church’s door.

But it doesn’t have to stay that way. Christ is greater than any other and there can be changes. But the Christians have got to be serious about their faith and obedient to serve the God of heaven who is the only hope for the world.

No matter what someone might give you at the end of their life or promise to provide you with, nothing is as sure as a relationship with God. People may or may not receive some form of an inheritance in this life. But it can never compare to what God has for you or anyone else that wants to be one of His heirs.

Today across this world, in fact every day, people sell out their chance to receive an eternal inheritance that only God can provide. Millions have gone into eternity void of eternal freedom all because they chose to sell out their inheritance to this world for what they can get now yet could have had later.

There are also many who plan for this inheritance but will find there is nothing for them in the end because they lived a life of misunderstandings of God and only thought they had an inheritance.

The only way to eternal life in heaven comes from a life surrendered to God’s Son, Jesus. Unless one is willing to accept Jesus and live as His and not just say they are then don’t live according to God’s Word, then what this world offers is as good as it gets. Don’t miss out on what really is in store for your life. There is a place of eternal life and one of eternal punishment, worse than death.

What we live for here determines, in the end, what our eternal destination will be. Without Jesus, there is no hope of something better but only something worse.

In the 14th chapter of Matthew, you’ll find the account of Jesus walking on the water of the sea in a storm to help those who would follow Him. Storms are often confronted in obedience to Christ. (Sometimes you encounter storms because you are doing God’s will. Storms can be God’s will. Storms should remind us of God’s promises. If He, the one who creates it all, says go into the storm to get to the other side, you’ll get to the other side.

Even when we can’t see Jesus, He can always see us. (All things can be seen by Jesus. Do you follow your own path and go the way you think is right OR do you still trust God to help you?

Jesus will always come to us at the right time. (He knows exactly when it’s time. Sometimes our fears may be Jesus in disguise. (When His followers were in a storm, they thought Jesus was a ghost on the water.) He can come in many ways to get our attention…and through storms, sickness, financial or whatever touches our lives Jesus can work in that area for His greater benefit.

The water that threatens to be over your head is always under Christ’s feet. You were built for the storms that you would face because God knew you would face these storms in mind or sometimes in body as well.

Our ability to walk with God is dependent on the focus of our spiritual eyes. We must stay focused on Jesus and not look the other way. When we don’t make it is when we forget Jesus can where we cannot.

The Great Need of the Day

During a time of a great revival move of God in the years of 1858 and 1859 many churches began to experience a move of God that brought the convicting work of the Holy Spirit all across New Brunswick, Canada. As some preachers began to preach the words of the Bible with great boldness, people would fall under deep conviction of sinfulness and begin to pray God’s convicting power would touch others.

One night a large gathering of young people were attending a dance. One young man noticed a piece of paper on the floor. Not knowing where it came from or who it belonged to, he opened the paper to these words and he realized they were connected to the Bible. The words simply said, “These shall go away into everlasting punishment.”

Suddenly a great distress came over the young man and he fell to his knees crying out to God under a deep conviction of sin. Not long after, more became under a convicting urge of sinfulness in their own lives. So, two pastors were summoned to help those young people. From that point, revival broke out all over town and the surrounding communities as hundreds were saved and filled the churches.

Lives and families changed as the power of the Spirit of God swept across the countryside. If ever that needs to happen once again, it is today, right here and now. For the days are growing short to work in the harvest field of humanity for the rapture of the saints is soon to happen.

What is truth? Well there is only one source. What is power? Again the same answer, that is, if you want to believe truth. There are many definitions of power. Many I’m sure believe it has to do with money and position. Well that is half the truth. Position is the right answer if it’s placed with the real source of truth.

There is only one place where truth begins and the only source that keeps real truth alive. “He who knows God, hears God. He who is not of God does not hear. By this we know the Spirit of Truth and the spirit of error.” 1 John 4:6.

People over the centuries have lied but this has grown worse over time until today where lying is just a very common way of life, especially those with what we look at as power. There has been many an empire and political system built on lies. Yet they will eventually crumble and truth will still be standing. The only way to address deceptions, misquotes, half- truths or whatever word you want to use which means lying, you can.

But it is only truth that is going to stand in the end. Today there are some, but few it seems, that will speak truth against the powers of the day that lie when and wherever they feel like it. Truth in a person is becoming more rare but it possesses great power against all others. And those that choose to make telling lies a habit will have no place in heaven and that is not my opinion. That is the truth from God’s Word. And the Christian has the greatest of all power when they live their life in the truths of God’s Word.

What if a husband and wife would fully decide that they, before bringing a child into this world, would give them to God for His own purposes?  Not trying to make them into anything other than what God wanted them to be.  Not a ball player or to offer them the best education. But rather to donate them as an offering unto the Lord God for His greater plans and purposes.

What could have multitudes of children become today for the work of God’s kingdom if their parents actually prayed before they were conceived to bring them into this world to build His kingdom instead of maybe their own empire or family legacy or just to have a child of their own?

God is always looking for willing people to be used who are willing to put their own self aside to serve Him.  There is great potential for the one who is fully surrendered to God.  Every child to be born has a purpose according to Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future.”  (Not the parents plans, not someone else’s, but rather God says, “I know the plans concerning each child ever born – life plans that no parent knows.”)

You do not choose your children.  God does.  You are given the privilege to be a part of raising that boy or girl for God’s kingdom, not yours.  Yet many take the reins out of God’s hands many times and interfere, altering God’s real intended purpose.

If only in anything we do, we would just first bring our thoughts, plans, requests and everything and lay it before God’s will.  We would be amazed at what can happen.

Every day each one of us has to make decisions. Some are easy and some can be very difficult. But one way or another, we will have to make decisions by what we know or think we know. God, every day, looks for men and women who call themselves Christian that are willing to be used by Him.

God asks of those who are more willing to serve His purposes than just those who talk about it. God is looking for men and women who are willing to believe they can do all things through Christ who has the ability to strengthen them to do anything.

You can always bet that when you’re given opportunity by God, you’ll also meet up with a challenge. We need the kind of men and women today who are willing to take a stand in the kingdom of God and tell the church we can take the inheritance that God has given us.

This world is a challenging enemy but we must always remember that God is greater than anything we face. He can overcome. Even in the place of adversity, even among those of the kingdom, we must reason with the Scriptures. Far too many have missed out on their opportunity with God at points in life. If only they would listen to the voice of God. Numbers 14:9-10; “Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will devour them. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them.”

Some people won’t listen no matter what they’ve seen God do in the past or have been taught in church. But when God steps in, then things will change one way or another. We will move forward or pay the price for not doing so. God is always going to do what He intended to always do. The shame is that so many people miss out on such blessings that God has for them.

The Night Conviction Came

The year was 1913 and a young man was playing music for a dance one evening. But as he continued to play, as the evening passed on, he began, for some reason, to be moved by thoughts of Jesus and what Jesus had done by giving His life to be crucified for his sins. He could no longer take these thoughts so he hastily left the dance.

But as he walked toward home he passed by the church where there was an all night prayer meeting and he knew that his father was there with others praying. The young man stepped inside and heard the reading of God’s word and again conviction fell upon his heart and he left again to head home.

Yet on the way, he would stop and plead with God to help him understand and have mercy on his life. Finally about 2:00 A.M. he had made it to his home and there as he went in he found his mother on her knees crying out, praying for her wayward son.

That night he cried out to God for forgiveness and salvation came into the heart of a young man that would later set the towns around the countryside and the world on fire with revival.

As the man, Duncan Campbell, became used greatly of God in Scotland and Great Britain, in many a village or city because of those who would pray in concern for his eternal soul.

God took notice and answered greatly and He will still do the same today for others if you will pay the price of prayer.
